How does functionalism in psychology apply to how I've become who I am today?
In functionalism there's a reason behind everything we do. I write to express my emotions (or alternatively drawing to express my emotions) and help myself figure out how I feel and why. Expressing how I feel through writing poetry or tragedies helps me release whatever negative emotions I'm keeping within me. Writing and drawing as creative outlets have done so much for me as they occupied all my time and helped me not constantly explode with negativity.
I decided to draw (or rather once again trace and color) an image of someone ready to write on a page in their notebook. Since I have to look at experience and what I experienced before I'd picked writing and how I used it to soothe my emotions. Functionalism states that there's a purpose behind what we do, so I picked writing and how the reason I did it was to use it as a tool to help me deal with how I felt.
